Gina Plays Emergency Department Clerk on Netflix series “Pulse”

Gina plays a recurring Emergency Department clerk on the soapy Netflix medical drama, “Pulse.” While she doesn’t have any lines, she pops up here and there over the course of the season—chatting at the nurse’s station, talking on the phone, tending to a bulletin board, doing data entry, handing out water bottles during a hurricane, and managing lots of very important paperwork.

“Pulse” premiered on April 3, 2025 and rose to the top 10 most viewed Netflix shows worldwide in 82 countries, briefly reaching the #1 spot in Austria, Bahamas, Brazil, Cyprus, Guadeloupe, Honduras, Hungary, Israel, Kenya, Martinique, New Caledonia, Panama, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, South Africa, Switzerland, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom, Ukraine, United States, and Venezuela. During its first month, the series garnered 20.2 million views and 162.1 million total viewing hours (per The Hollywood Reporter). Alas, reviews by both critics and viewers were overwhelmingly mixed to brutal and “Pulse” was canceled on July 2 after its first and only season. Regardless, Gina had a blast and learned a lot.

“Gina was one of a handful of star extras on the show [“Pulse”]. She was consistently on time, patient, and professional. Additionally, she was excellent on camera. She took direction well and had great reactions to scenes. If a scene called for background reactions, I would often place her prominently as most other extras* have a very limited range of usable reactions and I knew Gina could pivot if the director changed their mind.”

* “Pulse” hired 6,000+ background actors
